Appearance:

Thread- and/or web-like solder residues on insulating surfaces.

Description:
Web-like combination of solder and flux residue. Webbing defines web-like residues only. Pictured here are flux residues with a small amount of solder.

Causes/Remedy:

  • flux partially missing during soldering process
  • extensive contamination of the solder (wave soldering)
  • extensive pollution of the base material surface (mask)
